Online Newspapers

My subscription to Wall Street Journal is expiring soon.
The renewal of the subscription for one year is about US$200.
If I were still in the U.S., I would just renew it without hesitation.
The thing is I ain’t.
Should I just pull the trigger and renew the subscription?
Or should I look for other alternative online newspapers?

Wall Street Journal is by far the best online newspaper I have read.
New Year Times is a close second but it, too, requires paid subscription.
USA Today is simply horrible.

I used to read Washington Post many years ago.
I am not sure why I left it and opted for something else.
I think I should spend some time on Washington Post and see if I still like it.

There are a lot of things in life that once you lose them, you can never get them back.
Likewise, there are a lot of persons in life that once you leave them, they will never come back.
What remains is the remnants of memories.

————
Many a time we regret the decisions we make, for the consequences are grave and unbearable.
Only at that moment we wish we could go back in time, but we know that is not possible.

————
Learn to let go.
Learn to move on.
Learn to wake up to reality.
Learn to stand on your own.
This is life – it’s all about learning.
Just like everything else about learning, there is always a learning curve.
It may take some time, but you will get there eventually.

————
Always remember – you can choose to live happily or miserably.
You can choose to soar or sink.
You can choose to flourish or flounder.
The choice is yours.

————
Maybe the awakening is just around the corner.
Maybe the epiphany will strike you when you wake up tomorrow.
You just can’t give up because if you do, they will never happen.

————
You ain’t need no one.

Korea and Greece in Comparison

During the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s, Koreans lined up for hours to donate their personal gold treasures to help their country.
It was this selfless devotion and self-sacrifice that lifted Korea out of the crisis.
Today, Korea has not only recovered but performed better than ever.

In comparison, during the current crisis in Greece, Greeks have chosen to take it to the street while doing nothing for their country.
Who is to blame if Greece fails to get the aid package from the troika and slumps even further?
Nobody but themselves.
