once in a lifetime (I hope)
I think the incident that happened last Monday was not given its due attention on my blog, given that I wrote so much about my car hitting a deer two years ago.
So here’s the story.
I woke up at 4:30 in the morning and left for Amana from Ames at around 5:30 am after picking up Amy.
It was snowing. The road condition on I-35 and I-80 was rather terrible.
Most of the cars, including mine, were going slowly due to the bad road condition.
(I heard I-35 was closed later on that day.)
Anyway, I managed to make my way safely to Amana.
The story ends here? Not quite yet.
When I was about half a mile (half a mile ONLY!!!) from the company, my car skidded.
Then it spun for 180 degrees and went into the ditch on the other side of the road.
It was somewhat like a roller coaster ride, just that I didn’t expect it to happen when I was about to reach the company.
Lesson learned: Never let your guard down until you really reach your destination.
The funny part was that once I found out Amy and I were both fine, I suggested to hitchhike to work.
I didn’t even check my car, let alone worry about any damage it might have incurred.
First is our own safety. Work comes second.
Car damage? It will be the last.
In the end, we really hitchhiked to work.
I don’t remember what my reaction was when I was in the car at that moment.
It all happened too quickly, leaving me no time to react properly or correctly.
Amy seemed to remember it all, so according to her, she didn’t scream at all because she “had confidence in me.”
Thanks Amy!
As for me, according to her (again), I was just yelling “Shit.”
Well, at least I didn’t greet any parent or discriminate any gender.
Great story, was it?
My Top 10 Songs of 2009
This is so long overdue.
It wasn’t easy to come out with a list of top 10 songs of the year.
I wish I could make it “Top 100 Songs of 2009.”
I spent hours to narrow the list down to 20, then I had a hard time to pick 10 out of them.
It was like you were asked to give up 10 of your fingers and/or toes out of 20 of them.
It was hard.
Anyway, my top 10 songs of 2009 are as follows:
————
Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow
I don’t see a reason as to why this song wouldn’t be one of the top 10.
Another song of them - I Gotta Feeling - was a good one.
Jay-Z – Run This Town ft. Rihanna and Kanye West
Great song.
Jay-Z’s Empire State Of Mind ft. Alicia Keys was pretty good, too.
Flo Rida – Right Round
Flo Rida always has good songs.
Sugar ft. Wynter Gordan is my favorite song, too.
Beyonce – Halo
This is definitely one of Beyonce’s best songs.
Jay Sean – Down ft. Lil Wayne
I am still not tired of listening to this song. Are you?
Brad Paisley – Then
Sorry that there’s no music video of this song.
Anyway, this is certainly one of nicest love songs of the year.
Keri Hilson – Knock You Down ft. Kanye West and Ne- Yo
I can listen to this song over and over again for a hundred times without getting sick of it.
Alicia Keys – Doesn’t Mean Anything
Alicia Keys has never failed us, has she?
Boys Like Girls – Two Is Better Than One ft. Taylor Swift
I personally don’t like this music video ’cause Taylor Swift isn’t in this video at all.
Anyway, it’s a great song.
Lady Antebellum – Need You Now
Great voice, great song.
————
The following songs are the ones that I was forced to take out:
1. Miley Cyrus – The Climb
2. Lady Gaga – Bad Romance
3. Shinedown – Second Chance
4. Kelly Clarkson – Already Gone
5. Theory of a Deadman – Not Meant To Be
6. Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em – Kiss Me Thru The Phone
7. Eminem – We Made You ft. Richard Hoult and Charmagne Tripp
8. Ne-Yo – Mad
9. Katy Perry – Thinking Of You
10. David Archuleta – A Little Too Not Over You
It’s not that they weren’t good; it’s just that the other 10 songs were better.
I will try to spare more time to blog in the future.
Till then, take care.
some stuff that needs to be done
1. Change my profile pictures on Facebook, Twitter, Google, Windows Live Messenger, and WordPress.
2. Write about the co-op.
3. Update my music playlists.
4. Perform a 5S analysis at my desk.
5. Purchase graduation pictures.
some stuff that should be written some time ago
I finally have time to write.
It’s already the fifth day of 2010, but it’s never too late to state my new year’s resolutions.
Here’s the list:
1. Perform well in my co-op – I believe all of us want to achieve this.
2. Get a full-time job – needless to say, this is important to my future.
3. Be able to start giving my parents money – though they don’t need my money, but I will still do it if possible.
4. Be a better son, friend, and boyfriend – be a better man.
5. Live happily – none is more important than this.
Simple and yet not easy.
I got myself a Kindle as graduation gift two weeks ago.
I totally love it.
Though I haven’t used it much since I moved in to the new house, I believe I will use it more often once I have fully settled down.
As I moved to Coralville, a city that’s 140 miles away from Ames, my relationship has changed to a long-distance-but-not-too-far relationship.
I don’t like it. Nobody likes it.
Anyway, I believe we can do it.
=)
